According to new Bureau of Labor Statistics data, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is down .8 percent in July from a year ago. In July 2021, the state’s unemployment was 3.8 percent and last month unemployment was 3.0 percent. Meaning that currently the state’s unemployment rate is significantly under the national average of 3.5 percent.
Regarding jobs, since the beginning of 2021, La Crosse has added nearly 2,000 new non farm jobs. The new jobs, in addition to the state unemployment numbers, are a positive sign for the future of the La Crosse area economy.
